Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. An overpass will be built over the railway located to the south of the western crossroad in Ulaanbaatar.
A memorandum on conducting pertinent researches has been signed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Tourism, the General Manager of Ulaanbaatar and the Deputy Resident Representative of JICA in Mongolia. Nine years ago, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency performed a research in road network improvement plan of Ulaanbaatar city and worked out a master-plan aimed at the improvement of roads traffic in the capital city.
The research showed a necessity in constructing the most beneficial road network and an overpass over the railway in the center of the city. Due to lack of technical, technological and financial possibilities, Mongolia requested in 2005 to carry out this project within the frames of non-refundable aid of Japan. Accepting the request, the Government of Japan took a decision to carry out preparatory researches. For this purpose, a JICA research team has arrived in Mongolia.
